Operation Blue Roof is a federal disaster-response program that may be activated after certain major storms. When available, it can provide temporary roof covering for eligible homes so residents have short-term protection while permanent roof repairs or replacement are being arranged.

After major storms, be cautious of anyone charging for a free government program, pressuring you to sign immediately, or making promises before inspecting the roof. Homeowners should verify program information through official disaster-response channels and choose licensed contractors for permanent roofing work.
