Reconstructing Hope: A Free Roof for a Good Cause
1st Choice Roofing created Reconstructing Hope as a community-based renovation and roofing outreach project. The idea is simple: when a deserving local cause needs help protecting a property, our team can use its roofing skills to give back in a practical way.
Through the program, 1st Choice Roofing has donated roofing work to support a worthy cause and show appreciation for the community that has trusted us since 2004. Owner Ken Phillips and the team understand that a sound roof can do more than protect a building — it can help protect the people, services, and missions inside it.
Fostering Change Foster Closet in Land O’ Lakes
For 2019, the beneficiary of the Reconstructing Hope program was Fostering Change Foster Closet in Land O’ Lakes. Fostering Change was created by George Agovino, a foster parent who understood firsthand how much help foster children may need when they are removed from their homes without time to gather important belongings.
After Agovino spent months restoring a donated house, 1st Choice Roofing provided a brand-new roof to help protect the property for years to come. The company also organized a benefit event that helped raise money and collect donations for Fostering Change.
Fostering Change serves as a resource where foster children can receive clothing, toiletries, car seats, toys, and other day-to-day essentials. 1st Choice Roofing is proud to support local organizations like this through hands-on community outreach.
